  • The new Mexico-Canada research and Learning Hub was inaugurated at Queen's University! Ambassador of Mexico to Canada Carlos Joaquín González and Vice-Provost (Global Engagement) Sandra den Otter formalized the initiative at a signing ceremony on Apr. 1, 2025.   • Dr. Escobedo visited the Institute of Sciences Tokyo and University of Kanazawa where current collaborations were discussed and new ones were established.
  • Brianna did an amazing job defending her PhD thesis. Congratulations Dr. Bradley!
  • Dr. Carlos Vargas, former MSc visiting student has visited us again, now as Postdoctoral Fellow, to do research with the QSens Lab (Docoslis + Escobedo). Welcome back Carlos!

Welcome to the Escobedo Lab

Our lab is dedicated to develop micro- and optofluidic technologies that enable  advances in biology and medicine. Our current research interests include:
  1. Integrated (bio)sensing platforms applicable to wearable technologies and point-of-care diagnosis.
  2. Single cell interrogation using microfluidics.
  3. Electrokinetic manipulation of micro- and nanoparticles.
  4. Biomimetic nanostructures.
